How to Virtually Attend IEEE RFID 2020

Here are the pointer for how to attend the IEEE RFID 2020 Virtual/Online conference event. We have the same great content, papers, workshops, posters, and other presentations, but with a new, pandemic-friendly format that should be easy to navigate.

Registration: Please register through the EDAS system instead of RFID Journal LIVE!, as we have done in the past. If you already registered with LIVE! before the transition to the online format, you may request a full refund from Emerald Events.

Format: There are several types of content available to our attendees:

On-demand Presentations and Papers: Starting Monday, 28 September 2020, full-length papers and pre-recorded presentations of paper talks, workshop talks, and other invited speakers will be available by logging onto the EDAS website. These will be made available to attendees until Friday, 16 October 2020. You may ask online questions and make comments to authors/presenters in EDAS using a chat feature.

Interactive Sessions: A series of interactive sessions will be offered throughout the week of 5-9 October 2020. Authors, speakers, panelists, and other invitees will be giving short summaries of their works and will be available for Q&A. If you miss these sessions, recordings will be made available until the end of the conference.

Live-Streamed Talks: Keynotes and other selected talks will be live-streamed during certain interactive sessions and the presenters will be available live for questions and discussion. The recordings of these presentations will be made available to attendees after the live sessions.

There are gaps between the sessions throughout each day that will allow individuals to participate in breakout sessions or contact one another through FaceTime, Skype, etc. Each day also has a hangout/social session at the end of the day with a fun theme.

Attendee Etiquette: All standard online etiquette rules apply (mute yourself on entry into a meeting and after you have spoken, turn off camera during presentations, etc.) The key to a successful conference is participation. Ask questions of the presenters, participate in the social mixers, and make phone calls/video chats with fellow attendees in between breaks.

Author Preparation: If you are an author and/or presenter at IEEE RFID 2020, you will need to upload your pre-recorded presentation with your paper to EDAS. See the instructions page.
